Ravi Shastri Applies For Head Coach Job After His Return From London

Ravi Shastri has officially applied for the post of Head Coach job of Indian cricket team officially, a source in BCCI informed. Shastri had already earlier stated that he will apply for the Head Coach job and as soon as he returned to India after a break in London, he applied for the post officially – throwing his hat in the ring.

Shastri is the second biggest entrant in the list of the day after Phil Simmons too sent his applications in the BCCI headquarters. Ravi Shastri Applies For Head Coach Job After His Return From London 1

Shastri, who shares a good rapport with the Indian skipper Virar Kohli has earlier worked with team India for a period of two years in the capacity of director. He took over the role in the year 2014 and continued the job till the T20 World Cup 2016. Last year when BCCI invited applications for the post of Head Coach of Indian cricket team, Shastri was one of the aspirants for the job but lost the race to Anil Kumble. This year though there might be no such issues in his race to the throne of Head Coach.

The former Indian all-rounder though earlier did not apply for the job on the first go when BCCI had invited application when Kumble was at the fore. After Kumble’s exit, BCCI again asked for applications and this time Shastri did not let the opportunity go from his hand.

He is the second biggest personality who has applied for the job today as earlier in the morning, the news o Phil Simmons applying for the job too made sounds. He too has a great CV but his non-connection with Indian team might see him not even making it to the list of short-listed candidates. (Read Here: Phil Simmons Applies For Head Coach Job)
