Ravi Shastri Talks About His Equation With Sourav Ganguly
Indian Head Coach and the former cricketer Ravi Shastri said that he has the utmost respect for Sourav Ganguly, who is now the BCCI’s president. He clarified that he doesn’t bother what people or media think about the equation between the two.
There have always been speculations about the relation between Ravi Shastri and Sourav Ganguly after their differences went public in 2016. But Indian head coach has taken a step to mend his relationship with Ganguly.

Ravi Shastri opined that Ganguly, as the cricketer, had guided the team when it was surrounded with troubles. So, he respects the former Indian captain. He further added that the equation between the duo is just helping media to add spice to the news.
“He [Ganguly] took over Indian cricket at the most troubled times. You needed the faith of the people to come back. What he has done as a cricketer… I have the utmost respect. If people think I don’t respect that, to hell with them. As far as the Sourav-Shastri game that goes, that’s brilliant chaat and bhel puri for the media,” Ravi Shastri said while talking to India Today
Ravi Shastri’s terms went bad when Anil Kumble was selected for the post of the head coach by the then Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) featuring Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman. However, Kumble had to resign in 2017, after the ICC Champions Trophy, which has given a chance to Ravi Shastri to took over the head coach role and was recently re-appointed.
Meanwhile, both the former cricketers are working for the betterment of Indian cricket. Ganguly, who recently was appointed as the president of BCCI, was successful in introducing day-night Test match in India. Whereas, the head coach has the contribution to build the match-winning team. He also has the big responsibility to guide the team to play the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia.
