Ravi Shastri Congratulates The Indian Team, Labels Them As “Tigers”
In Mumbai, India defeated West Indies in the third T20I match and registered the victory in the T20I series. Also, the Men in Blue registered their seventh straight series win against West Indies across formats on Wednesday (11th December). Indian head coach Ravi Shastri congratulated the Indian team for winning against two times World T20 Champions.
In the decider match of the series at Wankhede Stadium, West Indies won the toss and opted to field. The Indian team was handed over a tough task to set the target. The Mumbai pitch is said to be the batting-friendly pitch where the batsman gets the chance to score high runs. Well, the host utilised the condition and set the first innings total of 240/3 runs which is till now the highest T20I total at Wankhede.
The opener KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma started striking boundaries at the beginning. In his home ground, Sharma scored his 19th T20I half-century and scored 71 runs before he gave an easy catch to Hayden Walsh. While KL Rahul continued the partnership with Virat Kohli and scored 91 runs off 56 runs, the Indian skipper scored 70* runs in 29 balls and achieved the fastest fifty of his T20 career. He struck seven maximums and 4 fours all-over the ground. Now, both Kohli and Rohit are now tied at 2,633 runs in the T20Is although the latter has played 29 matches more.
The Caribbean, who are the two-time champions of the shortest international cricket format, was not able to chase down the big target. Keiron Pollard-led team lost its early wicket in that decider match of the series. The captain itself got out on the ball of Bhuvneshwar Kumar after scoring 68 runs. The host won the match by 67 runs, and also won the three-match T20I series by 2-1.
Well done guys – Ravi Shastri to the Indian cricketers after winning the T20I series
Ravi Shastri labels the Indian team as the tiger and praised their efforts against Windies.
“Well done guys. You played like Tigers against the most dangerous team in this format of the game. Respect,” Ravi Shastri.
