Ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was in a celebratory mood today and dived into to share the joy of famous parody “Srini Mama” (@srinimama16). The twitter account today reached a milestone of 100k followers and the occasion was made more special with the reaction from Ashwin who wished much greater success the upcoming days due to the return of Chennai Super Kings.

He wrote: With @ChennaiIPL due to coming back next year, 200k followers on the cards shortly. Well done @SriniMama16 on 100k. Well played

Srini mama is arguably the best Twitter handles to follow for cricket humour. The account is an impersonation of former BCCI president and Chennai Super Kings owner N. Srinivasan.

Srini Mama is known for his sharp observational jokes which are an anytime hit. This super content has gained him traction on the micro-blogging site, and much of it can be owed to CSK’s humongous (also, controversial) popularity. He first made an appearance in November 2009 and is going strong evidently.

His list of followers includes various notable business personalities, a bunch of international and domestic cricketers, national cricket boards and a horde of sports journalists apart from the general crowd following. So far, he was tweeted more than 200,000 times.

Despite the two year ban on CSK, the Twitter handle continued to flourish and has now reached the supreme milestone which most of the other independent humourists find it tough to achieve.

Video of the day:

Ashwin rightly points that it won’t take too long for him to double up this following as Chennai Super Kings now plans to make a grand return to the IPL scene this upcoming season.

“Connoisseur of cricket (all formats), movies (all languages) & music (all genres). Carving a niche for myself. Humour. Parody,” he describes himself in his Twitter bio.

He crossed 100K mark on Twitter today and called his fans to mark the special occasion with his famous addressing phrase – “Dei Pasangala” which translates to “Hey Boys”.

He wrote: “Dei pasangala, today is a special day. Srini Mama started from scratch in 2014. 3 years down the line, here I am with 100,000 followers. All #ThaanaaSerndhaKoottam. Thanks for being a part of my journey. Love you all! ? #Mama100K”

His fans, obviously, were delighted and celebrated the occasion with him.
