Star Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has come up with an update on his injury that he sustained during the game against Kings XI Punjab in the first match for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020. R Ashwin was on fire during his spell in the game against Kings XI Punjab. However, he got injured in his first over itself after picking up a couple of wickets in the same over itself.

Delhi Capitals might have breathed a sigh of relief after Ravichandran Ashwin appeared in the post-match presentation ceremony without a sling. Ravichandran Ashwin struck on the very first ball to dismiss Karun Nair. Three balls later, he sent back the dangerous Nicholas Pooran for a duck to reduce Kings XI Punjab to 34 for 3 in the 6th over. n the very next ball, he seemed to have dislocated his shoulder. Glenn Maxwell played a straight drive and the spinner made a dive to try and save the ball.

On Monday, Ashwin took to Twitter and wrote, “I was in pain as I left the field last night, but the pain has settled down and the scan reports are pretty encouraging too. Thanks for all your love and support.”

In the post-match ceremony, R Ashwin was present to take an award and he was eventually seen without a sling in his hand. Later, the Delhi Capitals’ skipper, Shreyas Iyer informed that Ravichandran Ashwin is all set to play the next game. However, Iyer mentioned that DC will not take any risk and wait for the Physio’s confirmation before going ahead.

Delhi Capitals began their IPL 2020 campaign with a bang as they beat Kings XI Punjab in a super-over thriller. Both the teams were on level terms as the play came to a close at the end of regular overs. Kagiso Rabada bowled a fantastic super over and gave away only 2 runs, picking a couple of wickets. It was eventually a walk in the park for Delhi Capitals as they marched on in IPL 2020.
