Ashwin is not the first Indian cricketer who has pledged to donate his eyes as Gautam Gambhir, India head coach Anil Kumble, Vinod Kambli and Navjot Singh Sidhu have also pledged to donate their body organs.
According to numbers, India had over 15 million blind people in the year 2007. If each one of us pledges to donate our eyes and body organs, then it can be useful to the person who lacks a particular organ.
India need a mass movement in this direction so that people can come to know about what organ donation means, how they can help others, what is the use of this, how it can help a person?
If renowned personalities like Ashwin promote this movement, then surely Indian people will also come to know about this and it will help to spread awareness about this.
