Ever since V K Sasikala has replaced O Panneerselvam as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, she has been facing the ire and troll of millions of citizens who think she lacks the credentials for the top post.

A longtime companion of chief minister J Jayalalithaa, who passed away recently, V K Sasikala is not an elected member of the assembly and had never held any post in AIADMK, the ruling party.

As per reports, she took charge of the party after being persuaded by the party officials and soon there were calls to elevate her to the chief minister’s post. Jayalalithaa had occupied both posts during her time and party members were keen to see the tradition continue under Sasikala.

Consequently, she became the chief minister of the state. However, the news has not gone down too well with the Tamil Nadu public who are utterly shocked to see Sasikala filling the shoes of their beloved Amma.

#RIPTN and #sasikala started trending as soon as the news was confirmed and the latest person to take a dig at the newly-appointed chief minister is Indian bowling star Ravichandran Ashwin.

The Tamil Nadu ace tweeted: “To all the youngsters in TN, 234 job opportunities to open up shortly.”

The tweet is clearly directed at the number of changes brought in by Sasikala since she took charge. Last week,  she shifted a team of bureaucrats appointed by J Jayalalithaa before adding 23 people to the existing 38 office bearers at the headquarters.
