Indian captain Virat Kohli earlier said that the Test cricket in India should be played in some fixed centres. The spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, in a post-match press conference of the day one, agreed with the skipper.
Ravichandran Ashwin and Virat Kohli’s advice to BCCI
India has currently introduced a new pattern in the Test match. The team will play its first day-night Test match against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens (Kolkata). The main reason to introduce the new tradition is to increase the viewers of the Test match.
Virat Kohli earlier advised that if we set centres for Test match then it will bring more crowd to the match as well as players will know beforehand the condition of the pitch.
Ravichandran Ashwin also goes in the same vein. He opines that if we select centres then players in advance will get prepared themselves according to the behaviour of the pitch. However, in last he has claimed that the decision lies in the hand of the administration.

“Every other Test-playing nation generally has a certain pattern of playing Test cricket. They do know how the venue behaves, how the pitch behaves, how the games pan out. That’s perennially how Test cricket works in most parts of the world. Even in India, it was no exception,” Ashwin said.
“The understanding of a particular venue and keeping it that way will help the players. Whether or not that’s the right thing to do is something decision-makers will have to take,” he concluded.
On the first day of the first Test match, the off-spinner picked up two valuable wickets of new Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque and batsman Mahmudullah. He would have taken five wickets if Ajinkya Rahane would not have missed the catches. Ravichandran Ashwin is a spinner who cannot be avoided in Test matches. The player always has given the team a breakthrough.
