Ravindra Jadeja 7th, Ravichandran Ashwin in 17th place in ICC ODI Bowler’s Rankings
Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin are the most crucial team members of Indian team recently. But currently both are not in good shape. They were rested in the Bangladesh tour. On the other hand, We cannot forget a name that is Stuart Binny, the star of 2nd ODI match against Bangladesh who registered the series for India, 2014.
International Cricket Council (ICC) recently updated their top list of Batsman, Bowler and all-rounders. The bad news for Indians is that the Indian names which were at the top in the previous list was dropped in this list. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, both have lost two places in the bowler’s list. Jadeja dropped at number seven from number five and Ashwin is dropped at number 17 from number 15.
But there is a good news for future Indian team also. The star of Bangladesh-India and the emerging all-rounder, Stuart Binny has gained 23 places in the rank and got 206th position in the ICC ranking.
Jadeja gave his best performance in last ICC Champions Trophy and he moved to the career best third place in the bowlers and all-rounder’s list. He could not hold his place very long time. He moved down in the next list of best bowlers and all-rounders of International Cricket Council (ICC). He moved down to number five. This year his decreasing career graph dropped him at number seven in the top bowlers list. But he retained his rank four in the all-rounder’s list. He did not perform well in New Zealand tour and also failed to deliver excellently in the Asia Cup, which is the main reason of his degradation.
New Zealand Tour had also not gone well for Ashwin. Ashwin did not able to take any wicket in first two ODIs against New Zealand. In the 3rd ODI he took only 1wicket. In 4th and 5th match, he also did not take any wicket. We could not say that he is going through a good time as he took only 1 wicket and did not bat significantly well. That’s why his rank dropped from 15th to 17th.
Stuart Binny, the Future Star of India took 6 wickets in his career and the most amazing part is he took all this 6 wickets in last Bangladesh match. He compromised only 4 runs in that Bangladesh match. His performance in Bangladesh helped him to get 206th spot. Though he did not enter in the top 100 list but his bright future is signaling that he could come not only in top 100 but in top 10 too.
