Before this Test match, Ravindra Jadeja took 144 wickets in 28 home Tests. The left-arm spinner was six wickets away to complete his 150 wickets at home Tests.

During South Africa’s first innings of this Test match, Jadeja took two wickets. In that innings, he had the bowling figures of 40-5-124-2. He dismissed Dane Piedt (0 runs) and Dean Elgar (160 runs) in that innings.
In the fourth innings of this match, Jadeja reached the 150 home Test wickets milestone after claiming his fourth wicket in that innings. Jadeja dismissed the openers Dean Elgar (2 runs) and Aiden Markram (39 runs), Vernon Philander (0 runs) and Keshav Maharaj (0 runs). Jadeja had the bowling figures in that innings were 25-6-87-4.
At the end of this Visakhapatnam Test, Ravindra Jadeja had the match bowling figures of 65-11-211-6.

ii) Ravindra Jadeja became the third left-arm spinner to take 150 Test wickets at home. Before him, former Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Rangana Herath (278 wickets) and the former New Zealand left-arm spinner Daniel Vettori (159 wickets) achieved this feat.
iii) Ravindra Jadeja is also the fifth Indian bowler to claim 150 or more home Test wickets. The other four Indian bowlers in this list are Anil Kumble (350 wickets), Harbhajan Singh (265 wickets), Ravichandran Ashwin (242 wickets) and Kapil Dev (219 wickets)
iv) Ravindra Jadeja became the sixth left-arm bowler to take 150 Test wickets at home.
Earlier, on the day three of this Visakhapatnam Test, Jadeja completed his 200 Test wickets and became the fastest left-arm bowler to claim 200 Test wickets.
