Is Ravindra Jadeja Moving To Mumbai Indians? Chennai Super Kings Reply
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is one of the franchises which engages with its fans and never shy away from reacting to reports regarding the players. Recently, the franchise, in reply to one of the users on social media, denied any reports of MS Dhoni getting released from CSK. A user, on Twitter, inquired to CSK if their all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was moving to Mumbai Indians?
The franchise was quick to react and came up with an epic reply, clarifying that the India all-rounder will continue to be part of the team. Jadeja was one of the three players which CSK retained before mega-auction in IPL 2018, along with Suresh Raina and Dhoni. Here is CSK’s reply to the user –
Jadeja had first joined the franchise back in 2012 when CSK spent around Rs 9.8 Crores on the youngster, making him the costliest pick of the auction. He would later become one of the top players for CSK and the go-to man for Dhoni.
In 116 matches for CSK, Jadeja has scored 1021 runs with a strike-rate of 130.22. With 90 scalps, he comes fourth in the list of most wickets for the franchise. Jadeja, undoubtedly, is one of the candidates to be CSK’s captain after the retirement of MS Dhoni following IPL 2020.
Ahead of the auction for the next season of the league, CSK released Sam Billings, Dhruv Shorey, Mohit Sharma, David Willey and Chaitanya Bishnoi. The team management retained the core of the team and need an Indian pacer. They had bought Mohit for Rs 5 Crore in the previous auction but he got just one chance.
While CSK will again be the favourites to win the tournament next year, their real test will begin when Men in Yellow will be without captain Dhoni from IPL 2021. He has led the CSK in every season that they have played in the T20 league and for the first time, CSK will have a new captain after the next season of the league.
Apart from him, likes of Shane Watson and Harbhajan Singh are also expected to retire from IPL.
