Ravindra Jadeja should be handed the Indian team vice-captain in both Tests and ODIs claimed former India spinner Harbhajan Singh on his YouTube channel. This comes after KL Rahul was removed from the vice-captaincy role for the last two Tests against Australia and in the ODIs as well.
Ravindra Jadeja made his comeback to international cricket after five months as he injured his knee during the Asia Cup 2022 in UAE. He had to undergo knee surgery to get better and spent quality time in the NCA in Bengaluru. He played a Ranji Trophy match for Saurashtra and picked 7 wickets in an inning as well.
He then returned to the Indian team for the Australia Test tour and has been the Player of the Match in the first two Tests. He picked a fifer and scored 70 runs in the first Test in Nagpur and then picked 7/42 and 10 wickets in the second Test in Delhi, as India went 2-0 up in the four-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
With KL Rahul’s spot in the India XI in question in both Tests and ODIs as well due to his poor form, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh backed Ravindra Jadeja to be given the vice-captaincy in not only Tests but ODIs as well.

He said: “If you look at his performance, his batting has been come good. He should get vice-captaincy not just in Tests but in ODIs as well. I don’t think there’s a better option. You should have a vice-captain who plays in the XI. He should be on the team despite Indian or overseas conditions. I think Ravindra Jadeja is one such player. He should be given vice-captaincy. He has been continuously performing and is part of the team as a senior player.”
So far, Rahul has scored 38 runs in three innings of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Harbhajan Singh Calls Ravindra Jadeja As World’s Best All-Rounder
Harbhajan Singh also hailed Ravindra Jadeja as the best all-rounder in the world currently and only put Ben Stokes of England in his league.

He said: “He has a lot of experience and his reputation both with both bat and ball is very good. I don’t think anyone is a better all-rounder than Jadeja in world cricket. Yes, Ben Stokes is one player who is in the same league.”
Jadeja has picked up 17 wickets, including two five-wicket hauls. The southpaw also scored 96 runs, including a half-century.
