Anurag Thakur, the honorary secretary of the BCCI has posted on the official web site of the BCCI that Ambati Rayudu has been ruled out of rest of the India’s tour of Zimbabwe, and Sanju Samson to join the team as replacement.

It has been reported that the BCCI medical team has confirmed that Ambati Rayudu has been ruled out of the remaining part of the India’s tour of Zimbabwe due to an injury he has sustained while playing the 2nd ODI. It has been further clarified that Rayudu has pulled his right quadriceps muscles and will require 2 to 3 weeks of rehabilitation.

Thereafter, the All India senior selection committee has named Sanju Samson as Rayudu’s replacement for the rest of the tour. It is pertinent to add that after winning two of the three ODIs, Team India has already taken lead but in order to stay at their second spot in the ICC rankings for the ODIs, they need a clean sweep against Zimbabwe in the ongoing tour.

Rayudu has so far given a tremendous contribution as he had scored an unbeaten 124 in first match and also scored 41 in the second match. Therefore it might proved to be a big shock for the captain Rahane but let us hope that the youngster Samson will fulfill the expectations and will contribute substantially to improvise in the current tour.
