Royals Challengers Bangalore is still to lift the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy. What surprises many is that why they have not won so far though the franchise has the most lethal batting line up. RCB Chairman Sanjeev Churiwala also feels that not winning the trophy adds the pressure on the team which somewhere affects the performance.
Last year, RCB finished at the bottom of the points table, winning only five matches out of 14. In IPL 2018 as well, they were not impressive. The last time they reached the grand finale of the event was in 2016 where they faced defeat against Sunriseres Hyderabad. RCB has three times reached the finale of IPL but has failed to grab the hand on the coveted trophy.
The team is learning every time: RCB Chairman

Sanjeev Churiwala said that failure has always been a learning experience for the team. However, he admits that not winning the trophy adds the pressure but the performances motivate the team to work harder. For the upcoming edition, they would be working to improve their performances rather than concerning winning trophy.
“Performance is something that motivates us and drives all of us. We have been three times in the finals, (but) never lifted the trophy. It does add pressure. There’s no doubt about it. But there is also learning every time,” Sanjeev Churiwala was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
“Our last two performances (seasons) has not been really upto the mark, but otherwise by and large it was not something that we should be really concerned about.”

After ending at bottom back to back, RCB made changes to their coaching unit as former coach Gary Kirsten and assistant coach Ashish Nehra were let go off.
Former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson took over as the Director of Cricket while former Australian opener Simon Katich was roped in as the head coach.
With new coaches, RCB players and staff members will land in the UAE on Friday ahead of the IPL 2020 scheduled to start from 19th September.
