IPL 2016: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders – Player Ratings

Royal Challengers Bangalore welcomed Kolkata Knight Riders in the 30th match of the season. As the tournament is entering its important phase, every team wants to win as many games as possible.
Having won just two out of their six games, the Royal Challengers Bangalore were looking to change their fortunes on their home turf while Kolkata were looking to register their 5th win of the tournament.
KKR captain Gautam Gambhir elected to field first after winning the toss. Batting first, RCB lost Chris Gayle early but an 84 run partnership for the second wicket between KL Rahul and Virat Kohli steadied the ship. In the end, Sachin Baby and Shane Watson played some big shots to help RCB post a huge total of 185.

Chasing 185, Kolkata started poorly as they lost Robin Uthappa in the very first over. They kept on losing wickets at regular intervals but then a superb partnership of 96 runs from just 44 balls between Yusuf Pathan and Andre Russell turned the match towards KKR.
Score:
RCB: 185/4(20)
KKR: 189/5(19.1)

1. Robin Uthappa: 1/5
Failed with the bat once again. The team expected him to give a good start but could not do much.

2. Gautam Gambhir: 2.5/5
Continued his good form with the bat. Scored one more 30+ score to keep his team in the run chase.

3. Chris Lynn: 1.5/5
Promoted up in the order, he was looking confident against pace but started struggling once spin was introduced. Misread the ball from Chahal
and was bowled for 15.

4. Manish Pandey:1/5
Could not do much with the bat after returning to the playing XI from injury.

5.Yusuf Pathan: 4.5/5
Brilliant knock from this man. RCB were cruising at one stage but then launched a counter attack to completely snatch away the win from them.

6. Andre Russell:4.5/5
Bowled an economical quota of four overs on a good batting track and then played a quickfire knock of 39 to take his team close to win.

7. Suryakumar Yadav: 2/5
Did not have much to do with the bat.

8.Piyush Chawla: 3/5
Pick of the bowlers from KKR. Dismissed the dangerous looking KL Rahul and AB dee Villiers to keep RCB’s scoring rate in check.

9.Umesh Yadav: 1/5
Was very costly with the ball as he conceded 56 from his four overs.

10.Sunil Narine: 1/5
Still struggling to find his rhythm, he conceded 45 runs from his four overs.

11. Morne Morkel: 3.5/5
Bowled brilliantly on a flat track. Dismissed Gayle early and then Kohli towards the end.
