Karthik’s unavailability has come as a big blow for the Abhinav Mukund led side. Murali Vijay is released for India duty, and now, Karthik is too unavailable for the contest. He is expected to join the team for the last league stage game against Baroda.
Tamil Nadu selectors have made some changes to the squad as well. Left-arm spinner Rahil Shah has been dropped from the side. He could just pick nine wickets in four games in the season till now. Hence, selectors decided to drop the underperforming player.
Tamil Nadu Squad:
Abhinav Mukund (captain), B Indrajith (vice-captain), M Kaushik Gandhi, B Aparajith, Vijay Shankar, N Jagadeesan (WK), Washington Sundar, R Sai Kishore, K Vignesh, M Mohammed, V Yomahesh, J Kousik, S Lokeshwar (WK), V Ganga Sridhar Raju, Malolan Rangarajan and V Lakshman
Mumbai release Rahane, drop Vijay Gohil –
Mumbai have surprisingly dropped spinner Vijay Gohil from the side for their game against Baroda. Gohil, who was a part of champion India Red side in the Duleep Trophy, has 14 wickets in Mumbai’s four games and has done enough to sustain his place in the side but poor team performance saw him being dropped from the side.

Mumbai have already been weakened with the exit of Ajinkya Rahane, who has joined the Indian camp ahead of the Test series against Sri Lanka, that starts on November 16.
At present, the 41-time champion team is placed in the third position with just one win and three draws in their account. In their 500th contest, Mumbai prevented a scare against Baroda and managed to draw the game. Abhishek Nayar and Siddhesh Lad took the hold for long on the final day, to enforce a draw. Nayar played 108 deliveries for his eight runs while Lad stood at the crease for 238 balls for his 71.
Mumbai faces Andhra Pradesh in their next game in an away game from November 17 to 20.
