After hurling the allegations on Pakistan national team head coach Mickey Arthur regarding the ‘abusive language’ — the controversial batsman Umar Akmal revealed he had solely commented on the heat of a moment while adding at the same time, he was not aware of a violation of the clause.

“It was happened unintentionally,” Umar mentioned after being served a show cause notice by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), as he was quoted by Dawn.

Terming the comments as ‘unintentional’ following the altercation with Arthur, Umar further believes it was more sort of psychological pressure, as he has tried hard to return to the fold of national side.

However, the Lahore-born 27-year-old batsman Umar has vowed not to repeat the act after breaching the Code of Conduct set by the administration eventually for the professionals of the gentleman’s game.

“He [Arthur] told me that it was better for me to play club cricket instead of doing practice at the NCA,” Umar added.

It’s pertinent to mention soon after the outburst with Arthur, PCB dispatched a letter to the player for asking the show-cause notice.

Following the dissatisfaction, Umar was summoned by the PCB’s newly-appointed chief Najam Sethi and asked him to submit the report within ten days after making the appointment of the four-member committee.

Umar was found guilty under the clause of 2.25, 4.1 and 4.4 which further talks about the length and breadth of the clause regarding the charges, as per the PCB’s constitution.

Touted as a star middle-order batsman for Pakistan, Umar has grabbed headlines for all the wrong reasons, as he has been in the spotlight after the poor show with the bat.

Earlier in May, Umar failed to pass the fitness test for the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy in England and Wales.

However, the coveted trophy was lifted by Sarfraz Ahmed–led Pakistan after convincingly winning the grand finale against arch-rivals India-led by Virat Kohli.

According to Umar, who has been overlooked for the central contract list, as he was asked to leave cricket academy in Lahore.

“Arthur also admonished me as to who allowed me to enter the National Cricket Academy (NCA),” Umar added.

The foreign coach Arthur in his explanation revealed he has reprimanded Umar owing to the nonavailability of the contract for the player.

In August, the part-time wicket-keeper Umar came hard at Pakistan’s South Africa-based coach Arthur for what he felt as the rigid approach.

“He needs to prove himself before he uses our support staff,” Arthur maintained earlier after Umar was allowed by Pakistan batting coach Grant Flower to avail the services at NCA in Lahore.

Umar has played 116 One-day Internationals, 82 Twenty20 Internationals and 16 Tests for Pakistan after making his international appearance in 2009 against Sri Lanka at Dambulla.
