Javgal Srinath – The big stage was set as it was the big final of the 2003 world cup where the Indian team was contesting against the champions Australia for that World Cup trophy. The super power Australian team was the heaviest amongst the two and as expected they had the final laugh. The Australian batsmen targeted Indian bowlers from the first over itself and went to pile up a huge score of 359 runs in 50 overs. Crossing 350 run mark was a rare event at that time. Chasing the target the Indian team got buried under the pressure and lost the match by a huge margin of 125 runs and finished as the runners-up. Indian team took revenge after a period of 8 years by beating the Australian team in the quarter final of the world cup 2011.
