Test DebutRemembering Philip Joel Hughes and Some Highlights of His Career 2

After piling on the runs on a consistent basis at the domestic level, Hughes was eventually called up to the national squad for Australia’s tour of South Africa to replace Matthew Hayden. He made his debut on 26th February 2009 at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg after making a half-century during a tour game. Hughes got the taste of international cricket as he was dismissed by a peach of a delivery from Dale Steyn on duck but went on to make amends and was the top scorer for Australia with 75 in the 2nd innings.
