Failed to Cement a Permanent SpotRemembering Philip Joel Hughes and Some Highlights of His Career 2

After his heroics against South Africa, Hughes was found wanting during the 2009 Ashes as the fast bowlers exploited his unusual batting technique. He used to shuffle a long way and was predominantly a batsman who loved playing on the off side. The cut shot was one of his productive shots and the England bowlers never allowed him to get room and he finally lost his place for the 3rd Test in Edgbaston in favour of all-rounder Shane Watson.
