Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul find themselves in hot water following their controversial appearance in a talk show. All-rounder Pandya triggered numerous issues while Rahul came across as an immature public figure. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) didn’t take the matter lightly and issued a show-cause notice. As per reports some of the BCCI officials feel an apology won’t be enough to make up for the callus scenario.

Hardik Pandya-KL Rahul in trouble

As per reports Diana Edulji, one of the members of COA, wants the duo banned for their actions. “Cricketers over the years, even while bonding with film stars, have maintained their distance for the simple reason that their primary role is representing the country. Comments like these don’t show anyone in good light. This is sad. Someone of the stature of Bishen Singh Bedi also did not get away with going on a television show in the 70s and was handed a one-match ban,” a source was quoted as saying by The Times of India.

Pandya’s sexist comment and Rahul’s immature act

Pandya also made a few sexist comments which didn’t go down to well with viewers. On the other hand, Rahul would regret the timing of the show as he has been a flop during India’s Test series against Australia. Rahul told the host-director Karan Johar that he was busy partying ahead of India’s international match.

Both the cricketers are part of the Indian squad for the ODI series against Australia. Pandya did responded with an apology while Rahul is yet to get back with a formal response. Pandya is expected to feature in the 1st ODI, starting on January 12th. After the ODI series, India will fly down to New Zealand to play limited overs cricket.
