Reports: India To Play ICC Champions Trophy In England 1
As per the words of BCCI head Vinod Rai, India will play in the Champions Trophy 2017 in England.

As per the reports, newly appointed BCCI head Vinod Rai has given a nod about India’s participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy, despite the talks that IPL schedule might play as a spoil spot in the end, however, any official announcement is yet to be made.

On January 30, the Supreme Court of India appointed Vinod Rai as the head of four-member panel to run the administrations of the cricket’s governing body in India.

In an interview given to Bangalore Mirror, Vinod Rai said there is no point of India pulling themselves out of the Mini World Cup. He added every Indian fan wants to see their team participating and coming out victorious. Shedding some light on the changing times, Rai said India cannot threaten and get away like this now.

“I can’t comment on rumours. Why should the BCCI pull out of the Champions Trophy? Why? Doesn’t the Indian public want us to participate in the tournament? Everybody says we can withdraw from the Champions Trophy. Is it feasible? Will there not be a huge backlash? Gone are the days when we could threaten and get away.”

As of now, the meeting is underway in Dubai and reports suggests the ICC is planning to revamp the overall structure of both Tests and ODIs. If, going by the words of Vinod Rai, IPL will be the one to compromise in its schedule, as the SC has implemented a Lodha recommendation which says there should be a gap of fifteen days between two different cricketing events. The results are awaited and the confirmation on the matter is yet to be made.

IPL season 10 is set to start from April 5 to May 21, whereas, Champions trophy will start on June 1. India will play its first match against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 3 in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
