Revealed: The truth behind Fawad Khan's role in 'M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story' 1

The much-anticipated biographical film of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, ‘M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story’ has been making waves at the Box Office ever since it hit the theatres on September 30. As expected the movie was very well received by the fans. The inspirational crux of the story has left the audiences awestruck.

Well, even before the release, the movie was linked with several rumours and one of the biggest of them was Pakistani actor Fawad Khan playing the role of Virat Kohli. But there was no trace of Kohli’s role in the film. Several reports suggested that the actor was omitted from the movie due to the escalated tension between the two countries following the Uri attack.

According to reports in BollywoodLife, a source close to the film admitted that Fawad (as Kohli) had a special role in the movie. However, the claim was later quashed by the spokesman of the Fox Studios.

“Fawad Khan was never part of the film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. Even when we were casting the movie, he was not in the consideration set. Dhoni is an extremely realistic biopic and we have been true to that even in our casting,” Fox Star Studios spokesman said in a statement.

Well, there were calls from several quarters of the country to boycott Pakistani actors in the wake of the terrorist attack in which 19 Indian soldiers were martyred. Maharashtra political party,Maharashtra Navnirman Sena even issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Pakistani actors and artists to leave India just ahead of the release of the biopic.

Considering the situation in the movie, one can say that even Fawad Khan had a role in the flick, omitting him was the right decision. After the end of the first two weeks, the movie has nearly collected a whopping amount of Rs 125 crores but it might have been difficult for the movie to collect such an amount had Fawad Khan played a role in it.
