ToggleThe crucial part of any interesting game is the fielding done by the two teams. The former Australian cricketer, Ricky Ponting picks the top three fielders of all time while answering a question on his Twitter handle. The ex-Aussie skipper is regarded as one of the greatest fielders of his era. His reflex catches still remain etched in one’s memories.
Amid the ongoing trend on Twitter, Ponting participated in a Q&A session on his social media account, Ponting had received a barrage of questions. The questions varied from past cricket incidents to his opinions on the ongoing India-New Zealand series.
Well, while answering a fan’s question, Ponting revealed that during his heydays Shane Warne has nicknamed him as ‘Punter’.
Ricky Ponting names top three fielders of all time:

During the session, a user asked Ponting to name the top three fielders of all time. The former Australian cricketer quickly came up with three names. He named his former teammate, Andrew Symonds, the South
African batting maestro AB de Villiers, and the legendary Jonty Rhodes as his top three fielders of his generation.
While the three names are no doubt the best when it came to fielding, none of the Indian fielders made it to his top picks. Not even the likes of Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh.
Although Raina no longer plays for the India team, he was one of the terrific fielders for India. Whereas, Yuvraj Singh was best in business.

Ricky Ponting believes Rishabh Pant will soon find his way back in the game:
The cricketer-turned-commentator has served at various positions after he declared his retirement from all forms of cricket. He is, currently, the Head Coach of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Delhi Capitals. Ponting has worked with Rishabh Pant during his time with the Delhi-based franchise.
With KL Rahul’s in-form performances overshadowing Pant’s position in the team, a cricket fan asked him about his views on Pant’s form and future in the national team.
According to Ponting, the young wicketkeeper-batsman is a talented cricketer. He said that Pant will soon find his way back to the national team.
“Rishabh Pant is a young man with a huge amount of talent. I am looking forward to working with him again during the IPL and I am sure he will be back in the Indian team sooner rather than later,” Ponting said while replying to one of the users during his interaction with fans on Twitter.
