R Ashwin (limited-overs cricket)
Team India’s lead spinner at ICC Champions Trophy 2017, Ashwin was unceremoniously dropped from the limited-overs team along with Ravindra Jadeja. As per the selection committee, the duo was rested for the Sri Lanka tour but the rest period hasn’t ended for Ashwin. Jadeja forced his comeback into the limited-overs team but the doors are now closed on the other player.
Ashwin hasn’t played an ODI or T20I since July 2017. He still harbours hopes of making a comeback in white-ball cricket but that might not happen anytime soon.
