The young wicket Keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has surpassed the record of MS Dhoni. He has become the fastest Indian wicket-keeper to get 50 Test dismissals in 11th Test Match. While Dhoni accomplished this record in 15th Test match.
On Sunday, by pouching the catch of Kraigg Brathwaite on Ishant Sharma‘s bowl, he named 50th Test dismissals under his name. In recent times, Rishabh Pant has become the priority for the wicketkeeper role of the national team. MS Dhoni’s break has given him a chance and the selectors are giving Pant a priority.
In December last year, he bagged catches of 11 Australian players at Adelaide Oval and equalled the Test world record of most catches by a wicket-keeper.
Pant has been criticised recently for his wrong selection of shots. The 21-year-old has played 11 Test matches for India and his highest score is 159*. He has continuously played in domestic cricket and shown good performances.
Rishabh Pant performance domestic vs international
While the left-hand batsman has made some amazing records in domestic cricket but has failed to show his talent in International cricket. He made the second-fastest hundred in T20 in just 32 balls against Himachal Pradesh. Pant is raw and has talent he just needs to work and polish himself.
Not only he has to be a good Wicket keeper but also the well-versed batsman who can benefit in both situations. In T20I against West Indies, he scored 0, 4 and 65* runs and in ODI he managed to make 20 and 0 runs. His inconsistent performance can be a disadvantage for him. More
In first Test match against West Indies, Pant scored 24 and seven runs. Hanuman Vihari’s century led the team to build strong total. India gave West Indies a huge target of 468 runs and Windies has two days to get the target.
