Rishabh Pant, the new kid who wants to become another Ganguly

Rishabh Pant, the vice-captain of World Cup touring under-19 Indian cricket team has made a mark among the legendary Indian cricketers like Rahul Dravid and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The left-handed wicketkeeper batsman, who is from Hardwar and a student of Sonet Club in New Delhi, is often discussed whenever he unleashes his patent off-drive. And Dravid finds similarity with Sourav Ganguly in his off-drive. Coach of Rishabh pant, Tarak Singh also says Rishabh tries to follow Ganguly. The vice-captain of under-19 Indian team however looked very affable while talking from Delhi on Tuesday, “I have two favorite batsmen. They are Adam Gilchrist and Sourav Ganguly. And I often watch their batting through video clippings.” But at the same time, Dhoni is also a desired to Rishabh.

The reason is that he also hails from a small city as Dhoni has come from Ranchi. Rishabh added, “I have learnt a lot from watching Dhoni. And in a similar way, Dravid sir also taught me the same thing during our national preparatory camps. That is the coolness. It helps to increase concentration during the game.”

Tarak Singh, the founder coach of Sonnet club from where Indian cricketers like Manoj Prabhakar, Akash Chopra, Shikhar Dhawan have come up, said, ”Rishabh has a unique quality. That is his tenacity to master everything whatever we teach him.”

Now, this wicketkeeper-batsman has the only dream. That is to return to the country with under-19 World Cup.
