Rising Pune Supergiants keep on ignoring Irfan: Is MS Dhoni Responsible?

Irfan Pathan

Irfan Pathan’s performance was brilliant in both the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy and the Ranji trophy this year. By picking up 17 wickets in just 10 matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy, Irfan led Baroda to the finals, but eventually, they lost the final by 38 runs to Uttar Pradesh. It was 2012, 4 years back, when Pathan last played for team India and since then he could not make his way into the first team. Back to back injuries were the reason behind his absence, not his form. The fast bowler recovered from his injuries and performed brilliantly in domestic competitions, which earned him his place at the Rising Pune Supergiants in the season 9 of IPL.

Though Pathan is in-form, the Rising Pune Supergiants team management included him only once in the playing XI, since he has joined in. Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni is the captain of the Pune Supergiants, thus, Irfan’s fans from all over India have reacted on the social media towards Pune Supergiants team management and MS Dhoni, especially the ones from Vadodara are very disgusted over this issue.

The fans are not happy with Pune team management as they have been ignoring Irfan Pathan since the day he has joined in and that too when he is in his prime form. According to media reports, this is the reason why his fans have started a campaign, which is named as “Admit Irfan to Playing XI” on various social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter etc. Irfan’s fans from all over India, especially the ones from Vadodara have supported this campaign to add Irfan into the starting XI from next matches of Pune Supergiants and it will be very interesting to see if the Rising Pune Supergiants change their set team or not.
