Rising Pune Supergiants team add Saurabh Tiwary and Albie Morkel for IPL 2016
Saurabh Tiwary and Albie Morkel will be representing Rising Pune SuperGiants in IPL 2016. Both Tiwari and Morkel were part of Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2015. IPL 2016 will start on April 9th and will end on 29th of May. Raghu Iyer, the CEO of Rising Pune SuperGiants, has said that both the players will strengthen the squad, with both of them being proven players in the Indian Premier League in the past.
The move of Delhi Daredevils releasing both these players has a lot to take with the way the auctions went for them. They were heavily trolled for the way they bought players for higher price. The fact that they bought Chris Morris and Carlos Barthwaite, both being bowling all-rounders nulnifies Morkel’s chances of making it to the playing 11. And with Karun Nair being in the squad, Tiwari’s chances of getting a game wasn’t really there.
Rising Pune SuperGiants now has a decent lineup, having roped some good players in the auctions. Kevin Pietersen, Mitchell Marsh, Irfan Pathan, Thisara Perera are the major buys the frachise had in the auction.
To add to this are the big names in MS Dhoni, R Ashwin, Steve Smith, Faf duPlesis and Ajinkya Rahane. But the fortunes of Albie Morkel and Saurabh Tiwari is unlikely to change here as well. With Mitchell Marsh already here, Morkel will find it almost impossible to make it to the 11. Maybe, Tiwari may get a game or two as the team may go for an extra Indian batsman to boost up their bowling lineup with foreign players.
Hemant Dua, CEO of Delhi Daredevils, said that both the players had served the team well and he thanked and wished both the players for the upcoming season of the IPL.
