Since Rohit Sharma has taken the role of Test opening batsman, he has started to smash the Test cricket records, just like his limited-overs career. Now, he became the fastest Indian batsman to hit 50 Test sixes.

Rohit Sharma made his Test debut in November 2013 during the Kolkata Test against Windies. Around six years later of his Test debut, Rohit has completed his 50 Test sixes in his 51st Test innings.

Rohit Sharma started the ongoing Ranchi Test against South Africa with 45 Test sixes which means he was five sixes short from 50 Test sixes. Despite India were under pressure in the early period as they were battling on 39/3, Rohit didn’t lose his cool.

Soon, Rohit handled that situation very well along with the middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane. With the time progress, they guided the hosts to the big first-innings total.

Rohit Sharma completed his maiden Test double-century with his 50th Test sixer

Rohit continued his natural batting for a long time and completed his maiden double-century in Test career. He completed his 50 Test sixes in a great memorable fashion as that six also helped him to complete his 200 runs. He became the sixth Indian to hit 50 Test sixes.

Rohit completed his 50 Test sixes in 51st Test innings and became the fastest Indian to hit 50 Test sixes. On Sunday (20th October), during the day two of Ranchi Test, Rohit broke the previous record in this list as MS Dhoni completed it in 78 Test innings.

In this innings, while Rohit scored 212 runs, he hit 28 fours and six sixes. After this innings, Rohit has hit 51 sixes in Test career.
