India batting superstar Rohit Sharma, on Thursday (June 23), posted a touching message after reaching a major milestone in his glittering international career. One of India’s most successful batsmen, Rohit is currently in England with the Test team.

Team India is preparing for the rescheduled Test against England. The rescheduled game is a part of last year’s five-match series that had to be postponed owing to a number of Covid cases in the Indian camp.

The Test team landed in the UK earlier this month and have been training hard for the upcoming game. On Thursday, they will also lock horns against Leicestershire in a 4-day warm-up fixture. That will be India’s only warm-up game before the Test begins on July 1 in Birmingham.

Rohit Sharma’s special message:

As Team India gear up for the challenging Test against England, Rohit Sharma celebrated a major milestone in his career. On Thursday, he completed 15 years in international cricket. Exactly on this day in 2007, Rohit had made his debut during an ODI against Ireland.

While Rohit looked promising right from the start, he did struggle with consistency in the early years of his career. Things, however, changed completely for him once he was promoted as an opener in 2013. Rohit has not looked back since then and is now one of the best batsmen iun the world.

And as he completed 15 years in international cricket, he took to Twitter to post an emotional message for his fans. Reminiscing his journey in the game, Rohit said that he would cherish it for the rest of his life. The right-handed batsman also thanked his fans, cricket lovers and critics for their roles in his career.

“Today I’ll be completing 15 years of international cricket since I made my debut for India. What a journey it has been, surely one that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life,” wrote Rohit.

“I just want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey and a special thanks for the people who helped me become the player that I am today. To all the cricket lovers, fans and critics your love and support for the team is what gets us over those hurdles we all inevitably come across. Thanking you,” he added.

Meanwhile, Rohit will have his eyes set firmly on the upcoming Test against England. The upcoming game will be Rohit’s first as Test captain outside home. He can lead India to a series win in England for the first time since 2007. India are leading the series 2-1 and need just a draw in the upcoming game to clinch the series.
