India went into the second Test with three changes as Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami missed out and was replaced by the Murali Vijay, Rohit Sharma, and Ishant Sharma. Sri Lankan captain Dinesh Chandimal, who played the same team, chose to bat first winning toss keeping in mind that it will be tough for the batsmen to bat in the second innings.

Lahiru Thirimanne and Dimuth Karunaratne steadied the Sri Lankan innings after the loss of an early wicket as Pujara took a stunner off Ishant Sharma to remove Sadeera Samarawickrama. However, Thirimanne lost his patience just before the lunch as he got bowled while playing a sweep off a lofted delivery from Ashwin, which gave the Indian spinner their first wicket in this series.

In the 11th over the match, the stylish batsman from Mumbai was seen playing and having fun with the spider cam with came down to his midrib level. He was first seen blocking the camera’s view and was also seen trying to jump and hold the camera while it was going upwards.

Sri Lanka lost the wicket of Angelo Mathews just after lunch as Ravindra Jadeja registered his first wicket in this series.
