Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has stated that team’s top three batsman – Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the best top three batsmen in the world. These three batsmen have done the bulk of the scoring for the India National Cricket Team and they have been instrumental in the success of the team.
Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have provided great starts to the Indian team which has helped them in setting up or chasing down the big target. Furthermore, Virat Kohli has been the most consistent batsman in the world.
Rohit, Shikhar and Virat have done the lion’s share of the scoring.
Subsequently, India’s middle order has been its Achilles Heel in the last two years. India’s top three batsmen have an average of more than 45 and they have played a key role in the success of the team. In fact, India’s top order has finished most of the matches on its own as they have scored consistently in the ODI format.
Rohit Sharma has been able to turn his career in the last five years. He has scored runs consistently since he has started opening the innings. Moreover, Shikhar Dhawan has also done a fine job while opening the innings. In fact, the southpaw batsman’s record in major ICC events has been outstanding.
India has savoured great success while playing in different conditions and a lot of credit of the same goes to the top three batsmen of the line-up. They have batted at the top of their game and have achieved new heights in their career. Consequently, they will like to continue the same form in the upcoming World Cup.
