Rohit Sharma’s Travel Plan To Australia Are Being Made: Report

Virat Kohli‘s big revelation about having a lack of clarity and confusion around Rohit Sharma’s injury made a whole ruckus in media. And, soon after that, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) clarified that the opening batsman is in National Cricket Academy (NCA) working on his fitness and will join the team in Australia only after passing the fitness assessment test on December 11.
Now, as per reports in Mumbai Mirror, an official well known to BCCI’s development has stated that Rohit will be on Australia’s flight and travel plans are being made.
“Everyone was part of a conference call and things have been clarified. Rohit will go to Australia and his travel plans are being made,” a BCCI office-bearer told Mumbai Mirror.
Rohit Sharma’s father had Covid:
BCCI, in the official statement, has stated that Rohit Sharma had travelled back to India after completion of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 to see his ailing father. It is understood that his father was COVID-19 positive but now has recovered.
“His father had Covid and he is also a heart patient. Not everyone was aware of the problem… These are personal issues,” the office-bearer said.
Virat Kohli breaking the silence:
Virat Kohli had earlier said that he was looking for Rohit to be on Australia’s flight after he returned to play for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2020. However, this was not the case. Kohli, thus, slammed BCCI for not informing the captain why Rohit did not travel with the team.
“After that (the selection meeting) he played in the IPL and we all thought he would be on that flight to Australia and we had no information on why he is not travelling with us. There has been no information, there has been lack of clarity. We have been playing the waiting game,” he added.
“The only other information we got is that he is in NCA and he is being assessed and he will again be assessed on 11th December. It’s not ideal at all. It’s been very confusing and a lot of uncertainty and lack of clarity around the situation,” the skipper said.
Kohli echoed the thoughts of the cricket fans and experts as he said the entire situation has been very confusing even for him.
