Rookie Mehedi Hasan Reveals CPL Is A Window Of Opportunity For Him 1

The 19-year-old bowling all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz, who is on his way to West Indies – to feature in the fifth edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), believes the exciting Twenty20 competition has lot on an offer for him as a bowler and batsmen respectively during the upcoming tournament. “CPL presents a tremendous opportunity for me,” Hasan was quoted as saying by The Daily Star.

Hasan stated he would give his best to perform in the upcoming edition, as he further feels such opportunities require lot of hard work and sheer planning to reach out.

“I will give my hundred percent at the CPL. I am going as a representative of Bangladesh and people here would be looking forward to me performing at the CPL,” Hasan added.

As the widely acclaimed league is now featuring two games in Florida under the aegis of Windies Cricket Board (WCB), the off-spinner Hasan has expressed his delight to be the part of a campaign which is scheduled to kick off on August 4.

Interestingly, Hasan has hinted that he would be interested to be the part of celebrated cricket tournament Indian Premier League if given a chance early on.

Expressing to join Kolkata Knight Riders owned by Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, Hasan further aimed to perform for his national team.

“Opportunities give way to more opportunities. Since Shahrukh Khan’s team is in the IPL, I hope to play for his team one day,” Hasan said.

While expressing to work on his bowling to improve, Hasan has further wished to gain more insights in order to become success in the foreseeable future, as he claims of seeing several Windies players participating in the Bangladesh Premier League in the recent past.

“Past year I have not played in many T20’s with the national team. If I can adapt to the conditions and improve against the big name stars in West Indies, it will create a great opportunity for me,” Hasan further added.

The Khulna-born all-rounder Hasan has been roped in by one of the six-team CPL franchise Trinbago Knight Riders after replacing Australia’s slow left-arm bowler Brad Hogg in the set-up in April, this year.

“Lots of West Indies (Windies) players have played in the BPL. I know about them,” Hasan concluded.

Hasan would be hinging on his BPL experience while being the part of domestic short-paced franchise Rajshahi King, last year.

After making his international debut in 2016, Hasan has played seven Tests in which he has bagged 35 Tests and six ODIs to claim four wickets. He has also featured in only Twenty20 International against Sri Lanka at Colombo.
