Mehedi Hasan Miraz, the Bangladesh all-rounder, who had a blazing start to his Test career has stormed into Test rankings and has gained the 33rd spot in the ICC bowler rankings, becoming the second successful for Bangladesh in Test ranking.

Hasan had a flying start to his Test career taking a six-for in his debut innings. He ended the series with bowling figures of 19 wickets in two games. He topped the bowling charts, riding on his brilliant acts in both the Test matches Bangladesh was able to level the series in the end. He toppled the England batting line-up in both the Test matches to seal a historic victory for Bangladesh.

Mehedi Hasan provided his team with breakthroughs whenever they needed it. In the second Test as well, when England openers piled up 100 runs for the first wicket, it was Mehedi who came up with double blows to script an epic collapse for the visitors. In no time England team slipped from a score of 100/1 to 164 for all out handing over a win to Bangladesh.

He was awarded Man of the Match award in the second Test and also shared the Man of the Series award for his bravura act in both the matches.

The Man of the series of U19 World cup 2016 showed his class at the senior level and has kicked off his international career on a positive note. Surely, he needs to repeat his performance in overseas as well so as to be called as the next big thing in Bangladesh cricket.
