Ross Taylor Recalled Putting David Warner In A Headlock

“We were having a few drinks one night and Warner was getting a bit loud. By the time we got into the lift to go up to our rooms, he was being smart and annoying with it.“I put him in a headlock and gave him a couple of don’t argues. ‘Oh f–k,’ he said, ‘I forgot you Islanders are strong.’ It’s amazing what you can achieve with a headlock and a couple of jabs to the melon: David and I have been good ever since,” the former New Zealand batter said in his autobiography ‘Ross Taylor: Black & White’ as quoted by stuff.co.nz.
Ross Taylor retired from international cricket this year. His career of over 16 years saw him represent New Zealand in 112 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 102 T20Is, scoring 18,199 runs overall.
Ross Taylor Represented Delhi Daredevils Alongside David Warner
Talking about his IPL career, Ross Taylor played for Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2008 to 2010 before joining Rajasthan Royals in 2011. He went on to represent Delhi Daredevils as well as the now-defunct Pune Warriors India. Ross Taylor played only two seasons for Delhi in 2012 and 2014, scoring 256 runs in 16 innings with a fifty.
The veteran left-hander David Warner has had an excellent IPL 2022 season, scoring 427 runs in 11 matches at an average of 53.38 and a strike rate of 151.96. Sunrisers Hyderabad-SRH sacked the Australian opener as captain midway through the last IPL 2021 season and dropped him from the playing XI as well for the last few matches of that edition.

The 35-year-old opening batter wasn’t retained and went back into the IPL 2022 auction, where he was purchased by his former franchise, the Delhi Capitals (DC) for a hefty sum of ₹6.25 crore. David Warner made his IPL debut for them (then Delhi Daredevils) in 2009 and represented them till 2013 before moving out to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
