ToggleRoyal Challengers Bengaluru Playing 11 (RCB Playing XI) & Kolkata Knight Riders Playing 11 (KKR Playing XI), IPL 2024, Match 10: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the tenth game of the ongoing IPL 2024. The RCB vs KKR game is scheduled to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday (March 29).
Both RCB and KKR will be eyeing their second win of the season when they take on each other this week. After losing their first game of the season, RCB opened their account earlier this week with a thrilling four-wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBKS).
On the other hand, KKR have played one game so far and won it. They began their campaign with a thrilling 4-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Before the game between RCB and KKR gets underway, we are taking a look at the probable playing elevens of both the teams.
RCB Playing XI:
Openers: Faf du Plessis (c), Virat Kohli
Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli are set to open the innings for RCB against KKR. While du Plessis failed to do well with the bat in the last game and was out for just 3, Kohli starred with the bat. The former RCB skipper scored 77 runs and was adjudged the Player of the Match.
Middle-order batters and allrounders: Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat (wk)
The likes of Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green will be under pressure to deliver in this game. All three of them failed to score big for the second game in a row in IPL 2024 and will be desperate to do well. While Patidar scored 18 against PBKS, Green and Maxwell were out for 3 runs each.
Anuj Rawat failed to back up his impressive display against CSK and was out for 11. On the other hand, Dinesh Karthik (28* off 10) and Mahipal Lomror (17* off 8) came up with fine cameos to guide RCB to the win.
Bowlers: Lockie Ferguson, Mayank Dagar, Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal
RCB could make one change to their bowling lineup – Alzarri Joseph could make way for Lockie Ferguson after conceding 43 runs in 4 overs against PBKS. On the other hand, Mohammed Siraj and Yash Dayal did well, conceding 26 and 23 runs respectively in their four overs. Mayank Dagar gave away 34 in 3 overs.
KKR Playing XI:
Openers: Philip Salt (wk), Sunil Narine
Philip Salt and Sunil Narine are likely to continue as the openers of KKR in the forthcoming game against RCB. While Salt scored a brilliant fifty on his KKR debut, Narine could not do much with the bat as he was run out. The spinner has the ability to blow teams away with the bat on his day and KKR are likely to give him at least one more chance.
Middle-order batters and allrounders: Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer (c), Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Andre Russell
KKR’s upper middle-order failed to get going in the last game against SRH before the lower-middle-order rescued the side. The likes of Venkatesh Iyer (7), Shreyas Iyer (0) and Nitish Rana (9) could not last long on the crease. On the other hand, the likes of Ramandeep Singh (35), Rinku Singh (23) and Andre Russell (64*) had good outings.
Bowlers: Mitchell Starc, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy
KKR are likely to play the game with the same bowling line up – two spinners and as many pacers. While Harshit Rana and Mitchell Starc are set to be the pacers, Narine and Varun Chakravarthy will be leading the spin department.
