Rubel Hossain, the right-arm fast bowler from Bangladesh, is eager to learn the death bowling techniques from his Sri Lankan counterpart Lasith Malinga. Malinga and Hossain are currently playing for the Rangpur Riders in the ongoing season of Bangladesh Premier Leagues (BPL). Malinga has earned accolades from all over the world for his variation in the death overs. Inswinging yorkers and slowers are the best weapons in his kitty.

Praising his teammate, Rubel stated:
“Everyone knows about Malinga’s performance. His death bowling charms me. I’m always eager to learn from him and now I’m trying to learn how he delivers such yorkers in last overs. I’m also practicing in nets.”

Revealing more about Malinga’s bowling grip while bowling slowers, Rubel stated that he is practising the new grip, despite facing some problems.
“Malinga grips the ball a bit differently in slowers. I’m working on that. After some day, I’ll try that grip by myself. He does not use one of his fingers that he uses in all stock deliveries. I’ve tried that but have faced some difficulties. But I believe I can learn that with much trials,” he concluded.

Hossain bowled brilliantly against Dhaka Dynamites as he claimed two important wickets of Mehedi Maruf and Shahid Afridi. He used his variations pretty well which earned him those wickets and finished his quota of four overs with 2/29. His colleague Malinga regained his form and was at his usual best in the death overs as Riders defended an average score of 142 runs and bowled out their opposition out for 139.
