Ryan Maron, the former South African first-class player, has been appointed as the Assistant Coach of Windies cricket team ahead of the start of England series.
He will work under Head Coach Stuart Law and will join likes of Toby Radford and Roddy Estwick, the other two assistant coaches associated with the team.
Maron had a short domestic career as he played just 18 first-class games and one List A game.

He has previously worked with Afghanistan cricket team during 2015 World Cup, T20 qualifiers and incidentally was the part of the coaching staff of the side on their of Windies as a fielding coach. The tour comprised of three T20Is and the same number of ODIs. The home side won the T20I series by a margin of 3-0 whereas ODI series ended in a draw with both teams winning a game each. The final was washed out due to rain.
“We are pleased to have Ryan join us. He has a vast knowledge of the game – and has done some very good work. I m sure he will be a great addition to the coaching staff,” said Jimmy Adams, Director of Windies cricket.

The Windies tour of England starts from August 16 with a pink ball Test match between the two sides at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Two more Test matches are scheduled to be played post the historical game. A lone T20I and Five ODIs will follow the days game.
The Caribbean team has already reached the country. They are slated to play three practice games out of which the first one they played against Essex in which they dominated the game. The second practice game starts from August 6 against Kent. The last practice match will be a day/night affair against Derbyshire.

It was in the year 2012 when Windies travelled England for a complete series, in which they lost the three match Test and ODI series by a margin of 2-0.
The Jason Holder led depleted side will have to pull something out of the box in order to give a challenge to a strong England team, who has an advantage of home conditions.
