David Miller scored the fastest T20 century against Bangladesh in the second T20I in just 35 balls surpassing the previous best of Richard Levi in 45 balls. David Miller tore apart Bangladesh’s bowling attack as he was not out at 101 in just 36 deliveries. Miller previous fastest century was in 38 balls in the IPL playing for the Kings XI Punjab against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Miller scored the joint-third fastest T20 century after Chris Gayle (30 Balls) and Andrew Symonds (34 Balls).

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first. The decision backfired as the Hashim Amla, and David Miller took to the Bangladeshi bowling attack. Amla 85 off 52 balls before Miller took centre stage. South Africa finished at 224/4 in their 20 overs. Miller came into bat with South Africa’s score at 78/3 in 9.5 overs.

Miller hit Mohammad Saifuddin for five consecutive sixes on first five deliveries of the over but couldn’t do the inevitable as couldn’t hit the last ball over the boundary. Shakib Al Hasan was the only Bangladeshi bowler who had an economy rate fewer than ten an over.

David Miller was dropped on 0 off Rubel Hossain in the 11th over. He said in the mid-innings:

“A really special feeling. I tried to watch the ball and back myself. Not really (wasn’t watching the ball too well), I was scratchy to be honest in the beginning and towards the back end it turned out to be sweet. Anything over 200 is good, good wicket here in Potch. It’s a day game so might spin a bit later.”
