SA Vs BAN 2017: South African New Recruit Robbie Frylinck Says Won’t Take Lions Lightly

South Africa thrashed Bangladesh in both the Tests and One Day series, whitewashing the Lions in both the formats. Bangladesh was hammered in both the Test series as well as the One Day series at the hands of South Africa in South Africa. Bangladesh avoided an innings defeat in the first Test match, however; South Africa claimed an innings defeat in the second Test. This tour has been a forgettable one for the Bangladeshi team who has been a lethal team at home but has struggled on overseas tours.
The One Day series was no different as the South Africans hammered the Bangladeshi’s in all the three matches of the series. South Africa won the first ODI by ten wickets chasing a big target of 279. In the second ODI, South Africa batted first, and Bangladeshi bowlers were a victim of one of the best innings by AB De Villiers as he scored a century off just 68 deliveries and then went on to score 176. South Africa won the match by 104 runs. The third ODI was no different as South Africa defeated Bangladesh by a huge margin of 200 runs.

However, according to new South African recruit Robbie Frylinck, they will not take the Lions lightly in the upcoming T20 series. Robbie Frylinck who at 33 has played a lot of T20 cricket knows that this format is very unpredictable. He said:
“Growing up and playing as much cricket as we do, you respect every opponent, As soon as you write them off that’s when they come back and sting you. We definitely won’t be writing them off, regardless of what has happened in the Test matches or ODIs. Bangladesh are a strong T20 side. They play all over the world in various competitions and they are a team to be respected. T20 is a different animal on its own and I’m sure the guys will come in and give it 200%. It would obviously be nice to get another whitewash, but we’re not looking that far ahead.”
The two teams will now play a two-match T20 series which is scheduled to begin from 26th October.
