Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is not worried about the team’s loss in the first Test of the three-match Test series after hosts register 72-run over Virat Kohli-led India revealed the self-confidence had not been ‘dented’ with the opener.

“Confidence is not dented after one match,” Bumrah told media ahead of the penultimate Test at SuperSport Park in Pretoria.

The 24-year-old bowler, Bumrah, who has taken four scalps while playing his maiden Test, reiterated Team India did well as it was the time to move forward and give their best.

“Learn from the mistake you made and go forward. There is not a single cricketer who has not made a mistake,” Bumrah maintained.

The unorthodox bowler Bumrah added the low on confidence do not deserve future in the game.

However, he did neither refer to a team nor an individual player.

“If it happens, then you don’t deserve to play,” Bumrah asserted.

Interestingly, the day four pitch saw bowlers bagging 18 wickets in 64 overs which further saw visitors bowlers claiming eight wickets in the morning session of day four after third day’s play was abandoned due to inclement weather.

Talking about the personal experience, Burmah started it has been enriching to be the part of the Test squad, and he has been completely focusing on his game.

“It was a first good Test and a good learning experience for me because I have never played over here in South Africa,” Bumrah said.

Known for learning things quickly, Bumrah believes there is a lot on the plate, and he had set the horizon on the all-important second Test.

“So I had a lot of things to learn from it. Now it is time to move forward and focus on the second Test,” Bumrah added.

Interestingly, during his junior days, Bumrah has reminisced about the bowling coach Bharat Arun, who has been of great help for the death-overs specialist in limited-overs cricket.

“He has seen me since the time I walked in as an under-19 boy at the NCA where he was the coach. He knows me and gives me good advice,” Bumrah further added.

With India on the way to put their top performance against second-ranked Test side Proteas, the second Test is scheduled between January 13 and 17 in Pretoria.

Bumrah has picked his maiden Test scalp in the form of AB de Villiers which further saw the former was delighted to learn most important things from the game on a surface which proven more helpful for the seamers.

“It was not a dream debut. I was happy with whatever I learnt from that match. As a bowler, you look to get the first wicket early and I got AB de Villiers,” Bumrah signed off.

Concluding, Bumrah stated the wickets are altogether different, and they are supposed to work hard to maintain the line and length to pay the rich dividends.
