Sachin Tendulkar Reveals Brian Lara Gave Him A Special Memento In His Farwell Test Match

Sachin Tendulkar ended his cricket journey on November 16, 2013, after playing the last Test match against West Indies at Wankhede Stadium. As it has now been seven years since his retirement, the batting maestro took to Twitter to reveal the West Indies cricket team, Brian Lara and Chris Gayle among others had presented him a special gift on the occasion of his last Test match for India.
Sachin’s 200th Test and last match is the most memorable for every Indian fan. It was the last time everyone saw the Master Blaster in an Indian jersey.

Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar shared a video where he spoke about a beautiful drum that he was presented by the West Indies side in his final Test match.
“#OnThisDay 7 years ago @windiescricket and my friends @BrianLara & @henrygayle presented me with this beautiful steel drum. Drum I will always be grateful for such a wonderful gift and thank them for their love and respect. Thank you once again. @BCCI,” Sachin tweeted.

“Exactly seven years ago, on this very day I was presented with this beautiful steel drum by the West Indian cricket board, the entire team, and my dear friend Brian Lara. To me this represents love and respect that you have had for me, and I reciprocate that. Thank you so very much for the special gift,” Sachin said in the video.
“I remember when Brian Lara had come home, he had played this and it sounded amazing. Let’s see if I can play a bit. I know it’s not gonna sound like that but this is my tribute to all of you. Thank you for everything that you have done for me,” he added and went on to play the drum.
Apart from playing 200 Test matches, Sachin Tendulkar represented India in 463 ODIs and scored 18426 runs, including 49 century and 96 half-centuries. He is the only batsman to have 100 international centuries in his name.
