Sachin Tendulkar Gave A Soft Signal To Ravi Shastri To Apply For Coaching Job: Reports
Last year, Ravi Shastri was expected to be announced as the Head Coach of the Indian cricket team but with Anil Kumble in the race, Shastri was not given an extension and Anil Kumble was announced as the Head Coach of Indian cricket team. At that time as well, it was said that Sachin Tendulkar was the one who batted for Shastri but the other two members were not convinced.
This time as well, it has been learned that it is none other than Sachin Tendulkar who has asked Shastri to apply for the post, so as the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of BCCI can consider him for the post. Shastri shares a good rapport with the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and this could work in favour of him as this time, the CAC will not at all risk to ignore Virat Kohli’s choice.
Last year they dumped Shastri and appointed Kumble – a legend of the game – but still, the way in which he made an exit, left many questions for the board and Indian cricket. Sunil Gavaskar, the veteran of Indian cricket also questioned the way Kumble was treated. (Read Here: Kumble’s Way Of Exit Will Keep Others Away From Applying For The Job)
BCCI had already extended the date to apply for the post of the Head Coach of Indian cricket team and it was already reported that the board had approached Ravi Shastri to apply for the post. Though he later called it news a fake one. But within few days of that news coming in, Shastri has announced that he will apply for the post of the Head Coach to join veterans like Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody and LalChand Rajput. Sehwag seems to be the strongest competitor for Shastri as it was learned that Virat Kohli himself asked Sehwag to apply for the job. It will be interesting to see which way Virat puts his weight. Will he speak for Shastri or Sehwag? One cannot expect any surprises this time, unlike last year. (Read Here: Everybody Has The Right To Apply For The Head Coach Job: Sourav Ganguly)
