Sachin Tendulkar, fondly known as the ‘God of Cricket’ earned the name with his extraordinary talent. His stats and figures in the game speak volumes about him. He still holds the record of the scoring most number of international runs and centuries. Though the former World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev believes that Sachin had more potential than what he had actually showcased during his illustrious career.
The legendary batsman Tendulkar is one of the finest cricketers India has witnessed. Having made the debut at the age of 16, he has single-handedly played uncountable match-winning innings for India and took them to new heights. But Kapil expressed, in a recent interview, that Sachin would have performed better than what he had.

“Many people misunderstand the statements I make when I talk. According to me, Sachin Tendulkar is the finest cricketer India has produced. I still feel that he should have done much better than he did. He had already done so much, and no one has performed better than him, but I feel, Sachin had even more talent,” he said.
Further, Kapil acknowledged that Sachin had dedicated 24 years of his life to the game, which is not so easy to do.
“Sachin has had an amazing career. To play for your country for 24 years is easy to say but difficult to do. I wish him all the happiness. For all the happiness he has given India, I wish him and more importantly, his family, good luck. The family sacrifices more than anyone else in these scenarios. I wish Sachin great health,” he said.
Sachin Tendulkar has played the most number of Test matches (200). He has scored 15, 921 runs in the red-ball cricket while 18,426 runs in 463 ODI games. He also has 100 international centuries to his name.
