Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar feels India, under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, have what it takes to come out victorious in the World T20 to be held in March-April. Tendulkar added that the way the men in blue have played in recent matches, they are the most balanced side in the world.

In an interview to a leading news channel, the master blaster said that the current Indian T20 side are the most balanced team in the world, and backed MS Dhoni’s men to triumph in the showpiece event starting next month. “I think we have the best side in the world right now. In Twenty20s, the way we have played we are the most balanced team,” Tendulkar said. “We can go all the way to win the Twenty20 World Cup.”

Team India, who were the winners of the inaugral edition of the World T20, are expected to be strong contenders on home turf this time around, particularly after a great display of quality and consistency in the 3-0 whitewash of the Aussies down under.

“You see just the way Bumrah (Jaspreet) bowled in Australia was superb and then nice to have someone like Ashish Nehra back, Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) back in the squad, Harbhajan (Singh) is there. All these guys. It’s a formidable combination. I would definitely want India to go all the way,” Sachin said.

Sachin termed India’s showing Down Under as ‘fabulous’ – “The way we played T20 I think fabulous cricket and I actually happened to be watching the last ball (of the 3rd T20 in Sydney). I had gone out somewhere and had just come back, my wife and son were watching. They called me and said two runs to win off the last ball. I said there is no doubt we are scoring those two runs and Raina hit that brilliant shot over point,” said Tendulkar.

“We have a very good chance. In Twenty20, I think the team is well balanced with senior members in the squad. Then there are youngsters and guys who been around for a while, and they all as a package have performed really well.”

The World T20 kicks off in March.
