Arguably the greatest batsman of all time Sachin Tendulkar had hung up his boots from international cricket about four years ago, but his fan following all over the world doesn’t seem to diminish and is still surrounded by his numerous fans whenever he goes around in public. What sets him apart from other greats is his humility and attitude towards his fans and followers. He never shies away to reply to any of his fans and make them feel special.
The Master Blaster has now promised to meet Rajudas Rathod who expressed his love for the iconic cricketer while appearing on the famous quiz show anchored by Amitabh Bachchan “Kaun Banega Crorepati. “Well played, Rajudas Rathod! Aapki baatein sun kar kaafi mazza aaya! I hope you didn’t break more remotes. Promise we’ll meet soon,” Tendulkar tweeted following the completion of the show.
Rathod was a participant in KBC and revealed his love for the great batsman. He stated that his biggest goal is to meet Sachin Tendulkar.
“From 1996, I have been watching cricket. I have been loving Sachin Tendulkar ever since. I used to go mad whenever Tendulkar scored a ton. However, whenever he gets out on 99, I used to be heartbroken for the next couple of days,” Rathod said during a conversation with Amitabh Bachchan during the show.
“I used to sit in front of the TV one hour before a match started. I used to pray for Tendulkar before every match. Sachin is the reason for my joy and my pain,” he added.
He also added that he ended up breaking numerous TV remotes while quarrelling with his daughter who wanted to watch cartoon during the time of a match.
Tendulkar always replies to his fan’s emails and tweets and it is due to his behaviour that he still remains the same Tendulkar during his playing days for his fans all across the globe. Tendulkar ruled world cricket for 24 years and boasts of almost all sorts of batting records in Test and ODI cricket. He holds the record for most runs and most centuries in both Test and ODI cricket.
