Sachin Tendulkar never goes to watch his son play although Arjun Tendulkar has been featuring in different domestic tournaments for Mumbai for a few years. There probably isn’t a prouder moment for parents to see their children succeed.
Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, is still striving hard to make it into the profession. Though Arjun Tendulkar has a handful of impressive performances to his name in the domestic spectrum, quite surprisingly, his father hasn’t seen him play yet.

Sachin Tendulkar Never Goes To Watch Arjun Tendulkar Play As He Wants Him To Have That Freedom To Stay Focused
In conversation with Graham Bensinger, Master Blaster revealed the reason behind this not-so-common phenomenon. Sachin Tendulkar said that he doesn’t go to watch Arjun Tendulkar play as he wants his son to have the freedom to fall in love with the game, and not be under any sort of pressure. However, there have been such occasions as well where Sachin Tendulkar has gone to watch his son play, but without anyone knowing it.
“Fathers and mothers, when they watch their children play, they get stressed and that’s why I don’t go and watch Arjun, because I want him to have that freedom to fall in love with cricket – to stay focused on what he wants to do… I don’t go and watch him play.
“He has to stay focused on the game. Like I didn’t like anyone watching me. Even if I go and watch his games, I’m hiding somewhere. He doesn’t know that I’m there, and nobody knows, neither does his coach, or anyone,” he said in a video that was shared on YouTube.

Arjun Tendulkar, who is an all-rounder by profession, has featured in different domestic cricket tournaments and put in some performances worthy of applause. However, Sachin Tendulkar, in a candid interview, confirmed that he never watches his son play.
Sachin Tendulkar currently holds the record for most hundreds in both Tests and ODIs. Incredibly, he retained a divine enthusiasm for the game till his last match. He also scored the first double-century in one-day cricket. In 2012, he became the first player to score 100 international centuries.
Arjun Tendulkar Was Bought By Mumbai Indians For INR 20 Lakh In IPL 2021 And INR 30 Lakh In IPL 2022 But Is Yet To Play A Game
Last year, Arjun Tendulkar followed his father’s footsteps and was roped in by Mumbai Indians, the franchise Sachin Tendulkar used to play for, for a fee of INR 20 lakh. At the IPL 2022 auction, he was bought by the same franchise, but for a higher fee of Rs. 30 lakh.
In September 2021, Arjun Tendulkar was selected for Mumbai’s senior squad for the first time. He was included in Mumbai’s 22-man Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad. He is a left-handed fast bowler and left-handed batsman.
His Under-19 debut for India was against Sri Lanka in 2018. He made his T20 debut on 15 January 2021, for Mumbai in the 2020–21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Haryana. On debut, he took one wicket for 34 runs from three overs.
He has played only 2 T20s till date against Haryana and Puducherry and picked 2 scalps and scored 3 runs.

Though it would be the second for Arjun Tendulkar to be a part of the Mumbai Indians team, he hasn’t yet played for the franchise. Arjun was picked up by the five-time champions in the IPL 2021 auction but didn’t play a single game before his tournament was cut short due to an injury.
