Sachin Tendulkar Sympathizes with Asif Ali After His Daughter’s Death
Known as the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar sympathized with Pakistan cricketer Asif Ali who recently lost his two-year-old daughter after battling cancer. Tendulkar can feel the pain that Asif Ali is going through at the moment and it is quite obvious. However, the middle order batsman will have a role to play for Pakistan in the 2019 World Cup as he is part of the 15 member World Cup squad.
Asif Ali lost his two-year-old daughter Noor Fayoma after battling with Stage 4 Cancer. She passed away in Rochester on Sunday “Look, the loss of an immediate family member devastates. I express my heartfelt condolences to Asif, his wife and the other family members… Such losses are irreparable and Asif is bound to keep thinking of his late daughter even when he’s back in England for the World Cup,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying by Telegraph.
Tendulkar can feel the pain of Asif as he had gone through a similar situation back in 1999 when he lost his father during the World Cup. He returned home for the funeral and then returned to England again to score a match-winning knock of 140 of 101 deliveries against Kenya.
“I say that from my own sad experience as I lost my father very early in the 1999 World Cup and had returned home (for the last rites). Despite going back, in the thick of action, I couldn’t get the loss of my father out of my thoughts. It takes time. I wish Asif well,” Tendulkar said.
Asif Ali came to know about her daughter’s illness during the 4th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Taking to his Twitter handle Asif Ali had earlier tweeted that his daughter was taken to US for treatment as she was fighting Stage IV Cancer. Following her death, Asif again took to his Twitter handle and wrote that his daughter has been taken to Allah
